In a small pan, cook cherries with 2 tbsp water for a few minutes until soft. Mash lightly to get the juices out.

Boil 1 cup of water, then let the tea steep for 3-5 minutes. Take out the tea bag or strain the loose leaves.

Mix the milk with the softened cherries in the pan, along with the cinnamon stick if you're using it. Heat it slowly while stirring.

Stir the vanilla syrup into the milk mix. In a mug, pour the tea, then strain the cherry-milk mix into it, pressing cherries for extra juice. Give it a good stir.

Drink it warm while fresh, or let it chill to pour over ice. Add a cherry or a cinnamon stick for flair if you'd like.
