In a big bowl, mix salt, flour, cinnamon, and baking powder.

Mash the butter into the dry stuff until it’s crumbly. Stir in sugar, vanilla, and warm water until dough takes shape.

Work the dough with your hands for about 5 minutes until it’s smooth. Cover it up and let it sit for 15 minutes.

Split the dough into 15 pieces. Roll each one into flat circles about 6 or 7 inches wide.

Quickly cook the dough rounds on a hot skillet for 10 seconds on each side.

In oil heated to 350°F, fry them until they turn golden. Press the middle to keep them even.

Put them on paper towels to get rid of extra oil, then sprinkle with cinnamon sugar while warm.
