One Pan Pepper Meal (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Proteins & Produce

01 - 1 diced green bell pepper
02 - 1 diced red bell pepper
03 - 1½ pounds ground beef
04 - 1 tablespoon of minced garlic
05 - ½ yellow onion, chopped

→ Pantry Items

06 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
07 - 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
08 - Salt and pepper to taste
09 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
10 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
11 - 1 can of tomato sauce (15 ounces)
12 - 1 can of petite diced tomatoes (14.5 ounces), drained
13 - 2 cups of quick-cooking white rice
14 - Regular beef broth (check your rice package for the right amount)

# Instructions:

01 - Warm up the olive oil in a big skillet on medium-high heat. Toss in the diced onions and peppers, stirring enough to make sure they're covered with oil. Cook for around 5 minutes, giving them a stir every so often. Then, add the ground beef, letting it cook until it's browned with no more pink spots. Throw in the minced garlic and stir for about 30 seconds. If there's grease, get rid of the extra before moving on.
02 - Sprinkle in the onion and garlic powders, the Italian seasoning, plus some salt and pepper. Stir everything up so the spices coat the mixture evenly.
03 - Pour in the tomato sauce, drained diced tomatoes, quick rice, and enough beef broth (check the package for exact liquid amount). Let it boil, then turn the heat to low. Cover the skillet and let it simmer until the rice soaks up all the broth and gets nice and tender.

# Notes:

01 - Regular beef broth gives the best flavor, but you might still have to adjust salt to suit your taste.
02 - Make sure you follow the directions on your rice package for the right balance of liquid to rice.
