Beef Rice Onion Bake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - ¾ cup butter, cut into slices
02 - 2 cups uncooked white rice (long grain, not instant)
03 - ¾ cup water
04 - 2 cans (10.5 oz each) French onion soup
05 - 2 cans (10.5 oz each) beef consommé soup
06 - ½ to 1 teaspoon garlic salt, adjust as you like
07 - 1 pound ground beef, lean

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 425°F and let it warm up completely. While that's heating, take a 9x13 baking pan and spray it generously with cooking spray.
02 - Grab a big skillet and fry up the ground beef with some garlic salt. Keep stirring and breaking it up until it's fully cooked and crumbly.
03 - Dump the rice and browned beef into your prepared baking dish. Stir in the soups, consommé, and water. Mix it up until it's all blended well.
04 - Lay the butter slices evenly across your mixture. This will turn into rich, buttery goodness while it cooks!
05 - Wrap the dish with aluminum foil, sealing it tight. Put it in the hot oven and bake for 30 minutes.
06 - Take off the foil and slide it back into the oven. Let it go another 30 minutes until it's bubbling and everything's cooked through.
07 - When it's all done, gently fluff the rice with a fork. Serve it up nice and warm!

# Notes:

01 - Want less mess? Use a cast iron skillet or Dutch oven to brown your beef, then just add the other ingredients and bake it all in one pan!
