Sweet Warm Grapefruit (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Key Ingredients

01 - 2 grapefruits, halved
02 - 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
03 - 1/4 cup (50g) of brown sugar
04 - A pinch of flaky sea salt (like Maldon)

# Instructions:

01 - Choose if you want softer fruit by baking or quicker results with broiling, which also gives it a charred top and keeps the texture firmer.
02 - Set oven to 400°F if you’re baking. Switch the broiler on high if you’re broiling.
03 - Trim a little bit from the bottom of each grapefruit half so they sit steady. Cut around the segments to loosen the fruit, then put the halves on a baking tray.
04 - Dust each grapefruit half with ground cinnamon and about a tablespoon of brown sugar.
05 - If you're broiling: slide them under the broiler for 6-8 minutes till the sugar bubbles. Baking: let them cook in the oven at 400°F for 15-18 minutes.
06 - Add the flaky sea salt on top and serve it up warm or chilled. It's up to you!

# Notes:

01 - Roasting grapefruit takes away its sharp tartness, making it mellow and naturally sweeter the longer it’s cooked.
02 - You can switch up the flavor by swapping brown sugar with honey, white sugar, or a touch of maple syrup.
03 - A sprinkle of flaky sea salt not only pairs well with the sweetness and balances bitterness, but adds fun texture too.
