Cooking Method

Step 1: Prepare Garlic Base
Heat olive oil on medium, add minced garlic and cook until fragrant without browning to infuse the oil.
Step 2: Make the Roux
Add flour to the garlic oil, whisking constantly. Cook briefly until it resembles wet sand.
Step 3: Finish Sauce
Gradually whisk in cream until smooth. Simmer until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.

Heat Management

Maintaining medium-low heat prevents scorched garlic and ensures proper thickening.

Variations

Experiment with fresh basil, thyme or crushed red pepper for custom flavor combinations.

Storage

Store refrigerated up to 3 days. Reheat gently, whisking to restore texture.

Using the Sauce

Apply sauce sparingly in an even layer to prevent soggy crust.

This versatile sauce elevates any pizza with its smooth texture and rich garlic flavor. It serves as an excellent foundation for both classic and creative toppings.

Frequently Asked Questions

→ What kind of chocolate works the best?
Go for candy melts, almond bark, or white chocolate melting discs. Regular chocolate chips don’t coat as smoothly.
→ How long will these stay fresh?
Keep them in a sealed container at room temp, and they’ll last about two weeks.
→ Can I tint the white chocolate?
Yep! Use either powdered natural coloring or oil-based candy colors. Liquid food dye won’t work as it can ruin the chocolate.
→ Any gift-wrapping tips?
Small cellophane bags work perfectly, or secure little stacks with plastic wrap for freshness.
→ Why is it important to chill the pretzels as you go?
Chilling helps the chocolate harden faster and makes it easier to decorate them later.

Instructions

Step 01

In a small bowl, microwave the chocolate at half power for 1–2 minutes. Stir it up until smooth, reheating in 15-second increments if necessary. Pour into a ziplock bag, and snip one corner to use for piping.

Step 02

Coat the pretzels in the melted white chocolate, letting the extra drip off. Cool them in the fridge until the coating sets. Draw on a bunny face with the chocolate, stick on nonpareil eyes and a pink heart for the nose. Use a food marker to add whiskers.

Step 03

Dip pretzels into white chocolate, then sprinkle them completely with nonpareil sprinkles. Cool in the fridge. Pipe a dark chocolate face and floppy ears, then attach candy eyes.

Step 04

The pretzels can either be coated in dark chocolate with sprinkles added right away or chilled first and then drizzled with colorful white chocolate for a finished design.
